Title Tag
Title tag is the title of your website. You do not want to make the title too long because the shorter it is, the better. If you think about a title,  it is usually short, descriptive and to the point. That is how you want the title in your META tag to be. Your title should also be attractive because if you perform a search on a search engine, they will see your title, which is why it needs to attractive or else people will visit your website.

Example:
<html>
<head>
<title>Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Placement, Search Engine Ranking</title>

This title is short and too the point. A title should never be more than 80 characters long and it should contain the keywords that you want to be found under when someone performs a search on a search engine. This title is made up of 3 descriptive phrases that the website makes up, which will help the website to be found under these key phrases: search engine optimization, search engine placement and search engine ranking. You do not want to make your title into a sentence; instead it should contain the keywords you want the website to be found under.

Meta Description Tag
A description tag is a description of a web page. A description tag should not be longer than 120 characters and it should also be in sentence format. You also want to have your website's keywords in the description tag so that it helps enforce the title.

Example:
<META NAME="description" CONTENT="Search engine optimization promotion and placement services provided by Advantage Consulting Services. Free website ranking  tips and advice.">

This description tag contains the keywords in the title tag. This emphasis the  keywords that you want your website to be found under. If someone performs a search on a search engine and they see your website, they will not see this description. A description is for the search engine and not for a viewer to see.

META Keywords Tag
Keyword tag contains all of the keywords that your website represents. A good rule of thumb is too have 5 keywords or less in your keyword tag. Separate each keyword by a comma and try to have keywords with at least 2 words, but less than 4 words. Most people do not type in search terms that contain 4 words, on average it is usually 2 words.

Example:
<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="Website Optimization, Web Ranking, Website Placement">

The keyword tag contains the same keywords in the title and description because it helps bring a theme to the website. A theme is good and it will help your website ranking. You always want a website to have a theme because in a search engines point of view, a website with a theme is will receive better positioning then a website without a theme.

Heading Tags
A heading helps distinguish each paragraph. You do not want your paragraphs to blend in because search engines want each paragraph to separated. If a search engine is crawling through your website’s text and it sees headings you will end up seeing better rankings. A heading is like a title of a book or chapter. Every time you switch topics, you need to indicate the new title of the topic. Headings are done in html and the title is inside a h1, h2, h3, h4, or a h5.

Example:
<h1>Web Marketing</h1>
<h2>Web Promotion<h2>
<h3>Website Promotion</h3>
<h4>Website Ranking</h4>
<h5>Search Engine Optimization</h5>

You can do your headings from h1 to h5. The main difference between these is that h1 will create a heading in a large font, while h5 will create a heading in a small font. The size of a h2, h3, and h4 heading will be in-between a h1 and h5. A h1 will give a better ranking to an identical website that uses a h2 instead. If a h1 looks to big, a style sheet can be used to make it look smaller. In a heading, keywords need to be placed.
